The philosophy

A modern indoor fish farming system is a must at Ahrenhorster Edelfisch. But it is not everything: our critical eye instead of machines used in regular inspection of the animals remains essential. Only through this can high welfare standards and a high quality product be guaranteed. Ahrenhorster Edelfisch is completely committed to the farm and the product.

The Ahrenhorster principles: 

1.   Do good and helps others to do the same.

The Ahrenhorster Edelfisch Team conscientiously demonstrates how the farm is run and how high production standards are met.

2.    Do not expect others to accept standards that you are not prepared to accept.  

The Ahrenhorster Edelfisch team is convinced about its product:  the staff are all enthusiastic consumers of our fish.

3.   Address the causes, not the symptoms.  

The team aims to ensure the fish are content and that illness is prevented in advance.  This is achieved using optimal husbandry conditions for the wels instead of the prophylactic use of medicines.
